Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer recognized for his distinctive mix with soul-jazz R&B and R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her professional career performing on the piano as well as singing in church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the local R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You A House 12, came out only in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and it's a major part of her live shows. The singer has also provided her singing in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. Her role was as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who performed on stage in the production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, was approached to become the choral leader for the production. Sunshine came to national attention for her four-day performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
