Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the US. She is the President and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. A California native Buss was raised in an extremely wealthy family. Their father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the owner of the Lakers as well as other sports companies. The couple divorced in 1972 and she began to feel that she was emotionally abandoned. At 19 years old, she joined the family's business as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. The team was later renamed in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. Before becoming vice president for the Lakers in 2013, she was president of the Great Western Forum. Buss her father passed away in 2013, which is when the Lakers were acquired by her and five of her siblings via an inheritance trust. Each sibling had the same number of votes. She was named president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
